New Muse

I never got around to posting the end result on the latest muse i was working on... way back last year.
A lot has happened since then, I quit my boring job, became a Freelance Artist, moved to SoCal and now find myself redefining my style and my artistic orientation. Animation used to be my whole world, but working for a dead end job for the past 3+ years was killing every creative fiber I had within me. Now that I am free of that burden, I find myself feeling lighter and HAPPIER then I've felt in a very long time and I guess my dreams of becoming a famous painter like Frida Kahlo came back knocking, cause the desire to (though i still love it) kill myself, working endless hours on the same 120 frames till that one swooping motion on my character is perfect, so I can move on to the additional 16,000 more frames that are waiting for me... very patiently, to my sad frustrations, has all gone. Yeah!!! painting endless nights in my studio, getting my hands dirty and my clothes spattered with paint, glue, ink and whatever falls with in reach, is much more fun then sitting at a computer all day.

I must say, I do miss animation and I think eventually I will pick it up some time not to soon, but for now, I am enjoying myself as a Artist!!! :)

its been ages since my last post and alot has happened since then, which has kept me from working on my projects and really focusing on promoting my work through social media.
it most likely will stay like this for a while, family problems have emerged and right now my mother (mostly) and my family need my full attention.
but it goes without saying that i will be working on stuff every free time i get.
after a period of
stagnant creativity i find myself a bit more pumped with ideas and ready to jot them down on my trusty moleskine and of course uploading to all my social media accounts... blog included.

till i post again, which i hope is soon, i leave you guys with this piece.

hope you like :)

Another encouraging success… worked on this piece for the Fresno Art Museum Trashique Show 2012 in April. To my surprise, i was a top favorite and just this weekend was informed that the Trashique event will be traveling to LA for the PennyLane Organization next year!!! EXCITEMENT!!!
This is an old piece… created her last year for the Rogue Festival 2012. The Festival took place in March, and though its been several months now, i still love her.

She was the piece that started it all for me, before i decided to pursue fine art as a second career, i focused mainly on animation, always putting fine art in the back burner.  Since Rogue, its been one success after another, encouraging me to continue working on new pieces and giving Art as much attention as my work in Animation.
Thank you Rogue!!!

Ok, for those of you who know me, I suck at Illustrator. Back in the day when Macromedia was a big hit, I was trained in Freehand, very straight forward, no fuzz no muzz when it came to vector illustration... LOVED IT!!! but one day, poof!!! Macromedia is bought by Adobe and that was it for Freehand, I dabbled here and there with Illustrator but never caught on to it. Then Flash came along and since it was also a vector program and the line tool was and is the Bomb!!! Illustrator took a back seat to my creative mishaps of the digital expression kind, but now... turns out that in order to become a Freelance artist, I really need to suck it up and learn me some Illustrator!!! So here I give you my first attempt to Illustrator. Look familiar? why yes... very Kristen Ulve I would say, her illustrations are absolutely amazing, simple yet so much detail goes into them, every single time I go to her site, I drool at the amazing talent that she is and find myself constantly and eagerly going to her page for inspiration, she makes it look oh so easy!!! I hope to follow in her greatness one day and become a master illustrator!!!
